Day two of our roadtrip proved pretty tiring- a beautiful drive through mountains, clouds and roadworks. Six hours later we arrived Monterey.

Today we also discovered that once the empty tank light goes on, we still have at least 30 miles of fuel to work with (but probably not much more than that).

Some annoying things about the US:
-sandwiches with excessive amounts of meat (and fat) in them
-senselessly massive cars/utes
-the way everyone talks
-toilet bowls that are filled with water
-stupid paper money that all looks the same

Things we like:
-Ralphs supermarket
-Free wireless everywhere (especially in hotels)
-Kingsize beds
-The endless number of Mexican restaurants.
-no having to go to work

it's super nice to hear that the ol' tom+kaz way of relating to the absurd, ridiculous, excessive and just plain big-ness of the US of A has not been dulled by the sparking lights of Hollywood and other scenic like reposes.

Love ya n that... stay safe from FAT in FOOD (FiF)

G'day K&T

Don't forget you are in Arnie Land. In Arnie Land there are strange phenomena, such as the free wireless internet you speak of. It is true that fat sandwiches can be found outside of Arnie Land, but Mr Atkins has a very strong following in the west. Also, have you tasted the forbidden Burger King breakfast sandwich (tip- burgers are also sandwiches)? One breakfast sandwich has 140% of our daily recommended saturated fat intake. As you move further north you approach the Bay area, be warned of the recyclers. They recycle 90% of their waste, unfortunately so does their football team, including worn out coaches. How is it being on the "right" side of the road?

Hi Kazz & Tom,
Great that you are enjoying exploring USA. Yes you have to take the good eith the bad!
Try looking for weightwatcher meals in the supermarkets.
Loved the pictures of Down Town architecture in LA. You will enjoy the cable cars in SF.

Lotsa luv

Hey Nic, Craig and Jazzy...we're so glad to be in Boulder now where big people and big food is no longer the norm. They do however have big supermarkets called Costco. It's like Bunnings, but with bulk supermarket items. Very exciting!

And Mummy, we did enjoy SF. Thanks for the tip about the weight watchers meals. I managed to find one similar, which was much healthier than the others.
